What Is ULSD?

Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel is diesel fuel with a maximum sulfur content of 15 parts per million (ppm), mandated by the EPA since 2006. While cleaner for emissions, the refining process that removes sulfur also strips natural lubricity from diesel fuel, leading to increased fuel system wear — especially on CP4 and common rail injection pumps. Fuel additives like Fuel Ox restore this lost lubricity.
